background information about Preloader

Preloader is a short film festival celebrating and promoting the work of young film makers and emerging talent in Wiltshire and wider.

The Preloader cycle involves a series of local heats in venues around Wiltshire at which audiences make a selection of about 20 minutes of what they consider to be their best films. For the past few years the local heat venues have been Wiltshire College Chippenham, Salisbury Arts Centre and Create Studios in Swindon. The final circulates around the venues. In 2012 the final is in Salisbury.

At the final there is another audience vote and a panel of judges provide feedback. Sometimes there are prizes!

The 2011 winners had their work shown on the BBC Big Screen, on the Moviola circuit, at White Horse Pictures venues and at other venues in the West Country.

Preloader is a mediahubbub initiative growing a network of film makers and people interested in moving images.
